As part of the Indian Knowledge System (IKS) Week, celebrated from October 6-10, 2025 at Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS) Mumbai campus, the Centre for Library and Information Management Studies (CLIMS) organised a poster-making competition on October 8, 2025 on the theme “Role of Galleries, Libraries, Archives, Museums and Memory Institutions in Preserving Indian Knowledge.” Students from all Schools and Centres across the Mumbai campus were invited to participate through a campus-wide announcement. The event was coordinated by Ms. Sunandini Arora (MLISc 2024-26 Batch) and Ms. Shalini M. (MLISc 2025-27 Batch), under the guidance of the faculty coordinators, Dr. J. Shivarama and Dr. Akhilesh Yadav.

A panel of three experts from the School of Social Work, TISS Mumbai, was invited to evaluate the entries. The panel comprised Dr Josephine Anthony (Centre for Equity and Justice for Children and Families), Dr Archana P. Diwate (Centre for Health and Mental Health) and Dr Lata Das (Centre for Lifelong Learning). The posters were assessed based on the following criteria: relevance to the theme, content quality, visual presentation, innovation, and referencing and acknowledgement. After careful deliberation, the panel selected the top three posters for the first, second, and third prizes.

To celebrate the achievements of the winners, CLIMS organised an award ceremony on 10 October at the SDTM Library. The event was attended by faculty members, research scholars, staffs, students, and participants. The proceedings commenced with an opening address by Dr J. Shivarama, followed by a keynote speech delivered by the Chief Guest, Prof. Anil Sutar, Dean, School of Research Methodology. Prof. Sutar commended the students for their creativity and acknowledged the efforts of CLIMS in organising such initiatives that encourage innovation and the dissemination of knowledge among students.

The first prize was awarded to the poster titled “Sthira Sukham Sustainable” created by Pranav Sharma, Aditi Sharma, and Chitanya Jamrode. The second prize was presented to Ravi Pratap Singh and Chetan Raj for their poster “Soulkeeper of India’s Knowledge.” The third prize went to “From Palm Leaves to Pixels” by Nidhi Yadav, Avni Savant, and Krisha Mitra. Following the prize distribution, the winning teams shared the inspiration and conceptual thought process behind their work, reflecting on the pivotal role of GLAM institutions in preserving Indian knowledge.
