The Centre for Library and Information Management Studies (CLIMS) at the Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS), Mumbai, successfully inaugurated the 16th Batch of the Post Graduate Diploma in Digital Library and Information Management (PGDLIM) for the 2025-2026 academic year today. The ceremony, marking the official commencement of the prestigious course, brought together students, faculty and distinguished guests to the TISS Mumbai Campus. The cohort for the 16th batch is notably diverse, with students joining the program from various states across India, highlighting the national significance and reach of the PGDLIM course in modernizing library and information science practices.

 

Dr. J. Shivarama, Chairperson of CLIMS, extended his sincere greetings to the Chief Guest, respected faculty members, and the new batch of students, emphasizing the program's commitment to equipping professionals with cutting-edge digital management skills. The event’s Chief Guest, Prof. Anil Sutar, Dean of the School of Research Methodology, delivered the inspiring inaugural speech. Prof. Sutar addressed the evolving landscape of knowledge management and the critical role digital librarians play in the information age, offering guidance and motivation to the incoming students. The intensive course, focusing on the practical and theoretical aspects of digital library administration, will run from 10th November to 22nd November. All sessions are scheduled to be conducted at the TISS Mumbai Campus, providing students with access to the institute's academic resources and expertise.
